The Caterpillar shareholder resolution calls for Caterpillar to conduct an internal investigation to determine whether their sale of bulldozers to Israel violates the CAT code of conduct. The Code commits the corporation to “accept the responsibilities of global citizenship” and “take into account social priorities.” The initial resolution was filed in April 2004 by Caterpillar shareholders Sisters of Loretto and the Ursuline Sisters, at the request of the peace group Jewish Voice for Peace. This shareholder resolution is only the latest in a series of efforts by human rights groups to stop Israel’s policy of home demolitions.

This resolution will be re-introduced at the next CAT shareholders meeting in Chicago, IL on April 13, 2005. We need your support. Join the International Day of Action Against Caterpillar and learn more about what you can do.
